StreamBase Big Data Acceleration Pack
Part of our value to developers is in offering pre-built connectivity to data sources. StreamBase launched the Big Data Acceleration Pack in 2012 to allow developers to rapidly connect their StreamBase CEP applications and StreamBase LiveView deployments to unstructured data sources.
Customers like Linden Labs, Thomson Reuters and CME Group use StreamBase to rapidly deploy applications that ingest vast amounts of structured and unstructured data, taking in hundreds of millions of streaming business events each day, executing real-time analytics with business logic that can help automate the decision- making process and take actions based on a live view of business conditions. StreamBase has offered pre-built connectivity to databases from IBM, Microsoft, MySQL, Oracle, Sybase and HP Vertica for some years, with customers like Linden Lab pioneering integration with a variety of moving and static data stores.
The extension of StreamBase’s database connectivity options to Big Data sources enables customers to quickly implement real-time analytics against vast quantities of steaming data via StreamBase CEP, and aggregate, query, visualize and alert on streaming analytics with StreamBase LiveView.
The StreamBase Big Data Acceleration Pack includes:
- Hadoop Flume Integration – Flume turns the Cloudera Hadoop infrastructure into a streaming source of unstructured data. The StreamBase Apache Flume
adapter connects StreamBase CEP and LiveView to this stream of Hadoop data, turning the Hadoop data collection network into a massively scalable event absorption layer. The StreamBase Hadoop integration enables application such as real-time fraud detection, monitoring, and real-time service experience management applications. StreamBase was the first vendor to be certified with Flume by Cloudera.
- Gnip – The first CEP engine to connect to the world’s leading source for social data, Gnip and StreamBase integration provides a simple way to deploy enterprise-class real-time analytics to streaming social data. Applications range from digital ad placement to real-time social sentiment analysis.
- Recorded Future – Recorded Future analyzes unstructured news data from over 100,000 sources of news from the Internet. The sentiment, momentum, scoring, and text can now be integrated with StreamBase CEP and LiveView. Applications include real-time news-driven trading, fraud detection and surveillance, and intelligence applications.
