About Us
StreamBase Systems, the leader in high performance Complex Event Processing (CEP) and real-time analytics, provides software for rapidly building systems that analyze and act on real-time streaming data for instantaneous decision-making. Founded by data management experts driving industry innovation for decades and backed by top-tier investor firms, StreamBase has developed a new class of software that enables organizations to quickly develop and deploy real-time applications that can generate millions of dollars in new profits and are deployed at a fraction of the cost and risk of alternatives.
Just as relational databases transformed how organizations leverage stored data 30 years ago, StreamBase Systems is today revolutionizing how organizations use real-time data to drive competitive advantage. The volume of real-time electronic information is exploding. And, more and more organizations need applications that process and analyze these massive data streams, which can also be easily built, managed, and modified. Algorithmic trading and market data processing in capital markets, intelligence and surveillance in the federal sector, and real-time transaction monitoring for e-Businesses are just a few areas experiencing this explosion. The value of leveraging real-time event data continues to grow not only in these markets, but throughout many others as well.
StreamBase is leading this revolution.
Our team of world-class data-processing technology experts has built software designed to help organizations quickly profit from high-volume event streams. StreamBase’s Event Processing Platform combines the industry’s first and only graphical event-flow development environment, the lowest-latency highest-throughput event server, and the broadest connectivity to real-time and historical data. With StreamBase, applications are built fast, they run fast, and customers profit fast.
StreamBase Systems was founded in 2003 by Dr. Mike Stonebraker, a pioneer of database research and technology for more than a quarter of a century, and recipient of the IEEE’s prestigious Von Neumann Award for lifetime contributions to the computer science field. Mike invented many of the architectures that are the foundation of today’s multi-billion-dollar database software industry. Virtually all business computing applications-from accounting, inventory and shipping to point-of-sale, and online commerce-manage data using systems that can be traced to his work. Prior to the company’s commercial launch, Mike and a distinguished team of 30 professors and students from M.I.T., Brown University, and Brandeis University worked together from 2001 through 2003 to develop the core principles and technology behind the StreamBase platform.
Today, a seasoned management team and strong technical talent, backed by world-class investors, are driving the company toward a vision of doing for real-time data what the relational database has done for stored data.
Headquartered in Lexington, Massachusetts, with additional offices in London and New York with global coverage through our partner network the company has a commitment and passion for the tremendous market opportunity ahead, and a growing base of customers.
