StreamBase Systems grew from academic research at MIT, Brown University, and Brandeis University. A distinguished team of 30 professors and students worked together from 2001 through 2003 to develop the core principles and technology behind the StreamBase platform. Since the company was founded in 2003, we have continued our academic associations through internship programs and industry-academic groups such as DEBS and VLDB.
StreamBase University provides students with an academic license to use StreamBase and online training materials required for Level 1 StreamBase Certification at no cost to the students or the educational institution, for up to 30 students per year per course. Training and certification will be available online and is designed for those students wishing to certify their StreamBase CEP skills. Certified StreamBase developers are then licensed to develop and submit applications, examples, and frameworks to the StreamBase Component Exchange (SBX) to spark innovation between academia and industry.
Apply for a StreamBase University License
The goal of the StreamBase University program is to provide students with access to the mechanics of building real-time trading systems to compliment the theories and case studies taught to them during their courses.
For Professors, Course Directors and Educators
The StreamBase academic license allows students at qualified educational institutions access to StreamBase CEP, the leading commercial CEP software platform for building real-time data processing systems
In order for students to qualify for the academic licensing program we need to receive a signed copy of our “StreamBase Education Licensing Program” Agreement which we will send you. For clarity there is no cost to the educational institution, but since we are providing this free of charge we need to ensure that only accredited educational organizations have access to our software.
