StreamBase University

StreamBase grew from academic research at MIT, Brown University, and Brandeis University. A distinguished team of 30 professors and students worked together from 2001 through 2003 to develop the core principles and technology behind the StreamBase Event Processing platform. Since the company was founded in 2003, we have continued our academic associations through internship programs and industry-academic groups such as DEBS and VLDB.

StreamBase University provides students with a license to use StreamBase and online tutorials that support the Certified StreamBase Developer credential at no cost to the students or the educational institution, for up to 30 students per year per course. Tutorials and certification assessments are available online and are designed for those students wishing to certify their StreamBase skills. Certified StreamBase Developers may develop and submit applications, examples, and frameworks to the StreamBase Component Exchange (SBX) to spark innovation between academia and industry.

For Students

The goal of the StreamBase University program is to provide students with access to the mechanics of building real-time trading systems to complement the theories and case studies taught to them during their courses.

For Professors, Course Directors and Educator

The StreamBase license available through the StreamBase University program allows students at qualified educational institutions access to StreamBase, the leading commercial Event Processing software platform for building real-time data processing systems

In order for students to qualify for the licensing program, please contact us using the e-mail address. For clarity there is no cost to the educational institution, but since we are providing this free of charge we need to ensure that only accredited educational organizations have access to our software.
