StreamBase Announces Da Vinci Coder Contest For The Most Talented Programmers on The Earth

Complex Event Processing Leader Offers Industry-First Initiative to Challenge Intellect, Win $17,000 in Prizes, & Test StreamBase Developer Edition

SIA NEW YORK, NY– June 20, 2006 — StreamBase Systems, Inc., provider of the industry's fastest and most powerful real-time and complex event processing software, today announced at the annual SIA Technology Management Conference in New York City, the official launch of an unprecedented strategic initiative, "The Quest for the Da Vinci Coder." Co-sponsored by AMD (NYSE: AMD), The Quest (www.thedavincicoder.com) provides programmers, developers, and business people with the opportunity to test-drive an enterprise-class complex event processing platform through a fun, interactive, and intellectually stimulating competition.

To kick-off The Quest for The Da Vinci Coder, StreamBase world-premiered the contest's movie trailer at the SIA Technology Management Conference at Booth # 2005. The trailer, a parody of "The Da Vinci Code" movie, provides a humorous portrayal of the challenges faced by skilled software programmers, who typically write custom-code to try and meet rapidly changing business demands for leveraging real-time information. At the conclusion of the parody trailer, viewers are directed to a new web site for The Quest, which features weekly puzzle-solving contests and a streaming data video game. Contestants will also be prompted to download the StreamBase Developer Edition, which helps answer puzzles and provides access to sample applications for market data processing and trading analytics. Additionally, sample quote and trading sample data are available to help jump-start the application development process.

"As a software development platform company, we understand the daily challenges and pains of today's programmers and coders," said Barry Morris, Chairman and CEO of StreamBase. "To reach this audience, we are offering a distinctive approach for accessing and evaluating our stream processing software. The experience with The Quest for the Da Vinci Coder is designed to be interactive, fun, and challenging, while also showing developers how easy it is to build real-time applications in a fraction of the time and price of traditional custom coding."

Through mystery puzzles and competitions that demand intellect, creativity, and skill, players will have the opportunity to compete amongst their peers to win weekly prizes valued at $1,000 USD. These weekly prize packages include a Bose® home theatre system, an iPod® ultimate collection, an Xbox 360™ premium bundle, or the opportunity to donate winnings to a favorite charity. The grand prize, which includes being named "The Da Vinci Coder," is valued at more than $10,000 USD and offers a whirlwind tour of London and Paris, an amazing zero-gravity experience, a "take the money & run" option, or the opportunity to generously donate the full prize dollar amount to a charity of the winner's choice.
