New England Employees Rank StreamBase® as one of the Best Places to Work

Leader of Complex Event Processing Named One Of The Best Emerging Businesses To Work For In Massachusetts

BOSTON, MA — June 27, 2006 — StreamBase Systems, Inc., provider of the industry's fastest and most powerful real-time and historical complex event processing software, today announced that the company has received prestigious recognition by the Boston Business Journal as one of the Best Places to Work in Massachusetts. Best Places to Work rankings were evaluated on the results of more than 20,000 employee-satisfaction surveys.

"It's an honor be recognized as a 'Best Place to Work,'" said Barry Morris, Chairman and CEO of StreamBase. "Our industry is extremely fast-paced and we're always looking for new, creative, approaches to continually rejuvenate and motivate our employees. Throughout the year, we organize a number of fun, dynamic events for the entire company. From white water rafting to race car driving to launching friendly internal competitions that offer amazing dream prizes, these activities are a key component for driving a healthy, fun, and rewarding culture."

Since its founding in 2003, StreamBase has been continually characterized by high energy, results-oriented professionals who are shaping the company's award-winning technology and who have a passion and commitment for success. StreamBase's market leadership is driven by technology experts including database luminary Dr. Mike Stonebraker, top tier investors, a seasoned management team and a very talented employee base. The StreamBase business culture provides an environment where intellect, creativity, and independent thinking are highly valued. In addition to many traditional perks and benefits - generous vacation plans and floating holidays, telecommuting options, medical coverage, dental insurance, a 401K plan, life insurance, and short term disability - it's what the company does, "above and beyond" that drives further motivation and excitement throughout an already committed employee base.

"Accommodating employees' personal needs pays back dividends of loyalty and productivity," said Boston Business Journal Publisher Michael Olivieri. "The companies on our list recognize that their commitment to employees is especially important as the economy strengthens and competition for talent continues to grow."

Rewarding results that excel beyond expectations is one core aspect of the culture that helps to drive friendly competitiveness among and between departments and employees within the company. For example, StreamBase offered its sales organization a "Dream Vacation" for the sales executives who exceeded their target quota. To broaden its talent, StreamBase created a "March Madness" competition kicked off at the end of the first quarter to reward employees who refer former colleagues to work at StreamBase. If the referred employee(s) join the company, the employee who made the referral can select a prize option that includes a trip for two to the 2006 Major League Baseball's World Series, the opportunity to sail on an America's Cup Yacht, or his and hers matching Rolex watches. StreamBase also supports the professional growth of its employees through its continuing education program for those seeking to expand and sharpen their skills. Recently, one member of its engineering team was on sabbatical to secure a Master's degree in engineering at Brown University.

Monthly themed company meetings keep employees continually updated on what's happening throughout StreamBase's various departments and locations (headquarters in Boston with offices in New York, Washington D.C., and the United Kingdom). The company also brings together all of its employees from across the world for an annual summer outing at New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee including water skiing, hiking, and team-building to fuel a solid sense of camaraderie. In addition, a newly launched industry initiative featuring a parody movie trailer called "The Da Vinci Coder" (www.thedavincicoder.com) was partially filmed in StreamBase's Boston-based office and includes cameo appearances by the company's CTO, technical architects, and staff from engineering and marketing.

The survey project for the 'Best Places to Work' was launched in January by the Boston Business Journal in conjunction with market research firm QMR Inc. of Wichita, Kansas. Employees answered questionnaires that addressed such factors as their pride in the company, company encouragement, support and recognition of achievement and relationships with co-workers and supervisors. The results were analyzed and scored by assigning points to each question.

"For the fourth year in a row, our results validate how the creation of the right corporate culture can create powerful business advantages," said George Donnelly, Boston Business Journal editor. "Employees are proud to work for companies that are about more than just business."
